Booms are absorbent barriers that prevent oil spills on water from spreading. Metal o-rings and snap hooks are used to link the sections together. A rope runs the length of each section and keeps the booms taut. 5" diameter booms are for still or slow moving water, and 8" diameter booms are used in water with a current.
