Our premium quality booms absorb and contain spilled hydrocarbon-based fluids, including oils, gasoline, diesel, and most other petroleum fluids. Absorbent booms are deployed first on oil spills to prevent contaminants from spreading and creating an environmental disaster.

Steel o-rings and snap hooks connect the sections together, forming an absorbent barrier. A 1/4” rope extends from end to end, provides excellent tensile strength, and keeps the boom taut in the water. An outer net protects the inner spunbond polypropylene sleeve from abrasions and tearing. The spunbond sleeve is filled with hydrophobic post-industrial waste (meltblown polypropylene). All of these components are held together with large, pneumatically fastened aluminum staples.
Absorbent booms are available in two diameters. Our 5” diameter booms are primarily used in still or slow-moving water. Our 8” diameter booms are for moving water and heavier currents. They are available in both 10’ sections and 20’ sections.
